This is just one of those great pictures.
It was taken on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of Holy Apostles. From left to right: Meself, the current rector, Canon James P. DeWolfe, Jr. a.k.a. "Fr. Jim" our founding rector and my immediate predecessor, Fr. W. Harrison Beste, our rector emeritus, and Canon Billie Boyd, general all around giant of a priest.
Canon Boyd thankfully is still with us. I truly miss Fr. Beste, a dear friend, and we will all most certainly miss Fr. Jim. He went on to larger life yesterday afternoon. Talk about leaving some very deep footprints!
May he rest in peace and rise in glory! Jesus mercy + Mary pray

The Blog Hiatus
For some reason it has been a month since my last post here - The only excuse I can offer is that it has been a very busy month. I don't think I've seen a day off since before Christmas. And since I am off today - I'm not sure I feel like blogging much.
It is the week of prayer for Christian Unity. I had the honor of representing the Diocesan Standing Committee alongside of Bishop Iker at a hearing held in my parish hall last night for the members of All Saints' Parish, Fort Worth. Their rector and most of their vestry are intent upon the parish being in TEC and not in the Diocese of Fort Worth. They are refusing to abide by the decision of our Diocesan Convention to constitutionally secede from the General Convention and join the province of the Southern Cone. It was indeed an honor to participate in last night's hearing, but it was not at all pleasant to hear of what has been transpiring at the mother parish of my parish.
Please pray for the unity of the Church. Pray especially for All Saints', Fort Worth.
